This project was inspired by my mother. She had seen this technique on social media and went fanatic over Christmas with it. I had a blue / gray collection of acrylic yarn so thought this would be a good project for it. It's a crochet scarf, but you chain and skip one after every double crochet stitch. So you end up with this crochet piece that has grid-like gaps. Then you weave plain yarn (folded double) through the gaps to make a woven, complete fabric.
Really cool idea and you can make all kinds of plaid patterns and experiment with different colours. It finished pretty quick because crochet is quick and the fabric is thick. With the woven ends you can create tassled ends. All in all, very satisfying, beginner friendly project. Would highly recommend.

Hi there I'm Charlotte from London and I am a Millennial hobbiest. By that I mean I love making things, for both the process and the outcomes. On this blog I talk about all the things I'm working on and learning each week. On some projects I will go into a bit more detail on what I did and my experience through it.
Some facts about me:
- I am not a perfectionist, preferring to complete something than to attempt to make something flawless.
- I am in a constant cycle of building up inspiration, executing the ideas, then winding down to reflect and regenerate.
- I am interested in almost anything that can be made from scratch using nature / natural materials.
